On the vast field, three girls on white horses stood in three different directions.
The polo was right at the center, held by a little eunuch who was also the referee.
He held the ball high, with a whistle in his hand.
Later, he would blow the whistle and throw the ball high into the air.
Once the whistle sounded, the Princess County Lords would immediately ride their horses forward to grab the ball.
Where they stood right now was their own goal.
They had to use the sticks in their hands to get the ball into their goal to win.
At this moment.
The little eunuch raised the ball and whistle high, and the field was silent, even a bit tense.
The three girls kept their eyes fixed on the Colorful Silk-Wrapped Exquisite Ball, their ears ready to catch the whistle sound.
...
A moment later, the little eunuch suddenly placed the whistle to his lips and blew a long sound.
At the same time, he threw the ball forcefully into the air.
The three girls instantly shot forward like three arrows released from a bowstring.
Each had a serious expression and a graceful posture.
While swinging the long whips in their hands, they shouted.
"Giddy-up!"
"Giddy-up!"
At that moment, they had just one thought in their minds: faster, faster, must beat the other two to the ball!
Yue Er held her breath and focus, being the first to reach the center and take the ball.
She hurried the ball towards her goal while dodging the pursuit of the other two.
Yilan and Chen Wei Yu were not to be underestimated, especially County Princess Yilan.
Her riding and ball skills were superior to Yue Er’s.
Seeing the ball snatched away, she calmly adjusted her direction and encircled Yue Er directly.
Yue Er was shocked and just intended to change direction to evade, but unfortunately... it was too late.
Not only did she fail to evade, but she also lost the ball to Chen Wei Yu amid the twists and turns.
Chen Wei Yu smiled triumphantly at having seized the ball.
"Yue Er, even old horses stumble at times!"
Yue Er felt indignant, furrowed her brows, and harshly swung her whip to chase.
To her surprise, Chen Wei Yu nimbly dodged aside, avoiding Yue Er’s pursuit.
She continued moving the ball towards her goal.
Yue Er pursued relentlessly, as did Yilan.
Chen Wei Yu ran desperately forward.
But unfortunately... no matter how desperately she ran, she could never escape the chase of two experts.
Soon, her ball fell into Yilan’s hands.
Yilan was not proud but remained calm.
Skillfully riding her horse, she rushed towards her goal with maximum ball-moving speed.
However, Yue Er and Chen Wei Yu were no pushovers either.
One focused on chasing, the other on intercepting.
Finally... just as County Princess Yilan was about to reach her goal.
Yue Er spotted a weakness in her defense.
She went past the side of the opponent’s horse and took a risky swing.
The ball flew out.
Chen Wei Yu turned and caught the ball on the chase.
Yue Er quickly maneuvered with her stick to hook it.
The beautifully crafted Colorful Exquisite Ball landed smoothly under her stick.
"Haha!"
"Even old horses stumble, Wei Yu!"
Chen Wei Yu was so furious she gritted her teeth.
"Yue Er, you..."
Yue Er stuck out her tongue.
"I didn’t break any rules!"
"Off I go!"
She quickly flipped over, bypassing Yilan who was coming to demand the ball.
County Princess Yilan and Chen Wei Yu exchanged a glance.
"Chase!"
"I’ll chase from here, you go over there!"
"Alright!"
The two agreed to encircle, but Yue Er was ultimately a step faster.
In the end, Yue Er successfully moved the ball into her goal.
"Hahaha... I finally won once!"
She enthusiastically dismounted from the horse without even wiping the sweat from her head.
County Princess Yilan and Chen Wei Yu took off their gear, but both were somewhat discontent.
"You little girl, you’re so bold, even dared to jump off the horse and flip over!"
"Exactly! Technically, it’s against the rules!"
Yue Er was smug.
"Where’s the foul? You’re losing and trying to cheat?"
Chen Wei Yu was speechless and directly took off her Cat’s Eye Stone Bracelet from her wrist.
"What’s there to cheat? We’re not as high as Princesses, but we can afford to lose this little thing!"
Yilan raised her eyebrows.
"Indeed!"
"Later I’ll have my maidsend the nesting dolls to you!"
"But we should make it clear first, you must return them on time!"
Yue Er, while playing with the Cat’s Eye Stone Bracelet, giggled and agreed.
"I promise to return them on time, definitely!"
Yilan was completely relieved.
"That’s better!"
She looked at the sky and said to Yue Er.
"Well, it’s not easy for you to leave the palace, hurry back!"
"It’s getting late, and we should head back too!"
