Hua Yusen roared with laughter at the sight.
Annoyed, Zhao Nuanyue smacked Hua Yusen on the back and ran out of the bathroom in a huff.
Now that Zhao Nuanyue was gone, Hua Yusen certainly didn’t want to linger in the bathroom. He dried himself off and changed into the pajamas and robe she had prepared for him.
He drained the bathwater and cleaned up the bathroom before finally looking at himself in the mirror.
Hua Yusen studied his reflection, suddenly feeling the truth in the saying that joyous occasions make a man glow. ’I’m ridiculously handsome,’ he thought, ’more handsome than any man I’ve ever seen.’
That was how narcissistic Hua Yusen felt at that moment!
He had never been this happy. He was about to experience the most important part of his life, the wonderful event he had been dreaming of constantly!
His wedding night!
’There may not be ceremonial candles, but there’s the warm, soft yellow light and a wonderful woman, so everything is perfect!’
When Hua Yusen reached Zhao Nuanyue’s room, he shut the door behind him.
The overhead light was off, and only the bedside lamp was on. Its warm, soft glow illuminated the raised covers on the bed, where Zhao Nuanyue’s jet-black hair was fanned out across the pillow.
Gazing at such a beautiful scene, Hua Yusen grew eager.
Zhao Nuanyue heard Hua Yusen’s footsteps drawing closer, and her own heart began to pound faster.
Hearing Hua Yusen’s words, Zhao Nuanyue knew he meant them with all his heart. She was deeply moved. ’What could be more touching than this!’
"I love you too, Yu Sen!" Zhao Nuanyue said softly, turning to gaze at Hua Yusen.
His reflection swam in the glistening moisture of her eyes.
Though Hua Yusen could be a flirtatious sweet-talker with Zhao Nuanyue, he had never been intimate with anyone before. Now, with the woman he loved, he was incredibly thrilled.
With her love and his desire, they were perfectly in sync, immersed in their affection for one another.
Looking at Zhao Nuanyue’s slightly weary face, Hua Yusen was filled with emotion. ’Having such a wonderful woman is enough for one lifetime!’
Zhao Nuanyue closed her eyes. She wasn’t actually asleep; she just wanted to see what Hua Yusen would do.
’In this life, I have truly and completely become Hua Yusen’s woman. Not like in my past life, where I loved him with a broken body and a heart full of insecurity.’
’But not anymore. Now, in the most beautiful and brilliant time of my life, I have met him at his very best. I can love him openly, confidently. Together, we will face all of life’s challenges and build our future.’
Zhao Nuanyue felt the distance between her and Hua Yusen shrink even further. Their bodies were pressed close, inseparable, their two hearts beating as one.
Never before had Zhao Nuanyue fallen asleep feeling so happy and secure.
Hearing the slow, even sound of Zhao Nuanyue’s breathing as she fell asleep, Hua Yusen held her as if she were a priceless treasure and gently touched her face.
’She is my treasure for life.’
The next morning, Zhao Nuanyue stirred and tried to turn over, but found she couldn’t break free. "Little Red Carp, let me go," she murmured unconsciously. "I need to go make you breakfast!"
Hua Yusen found her mumbling amusing. He glanced outside; the sky wasn’t fully light yet.
’It’s still early. No rush at all.’
He finally had a day off and had no intention of getting up early. He shut off the alarm and went back to sleep.
