Chapter 486

However, facing two robust men, it simply wasn’t enough, the stick was grabbed by one of them and snatched away, the other man simply picked the little boy up and walked to the side.

The boy, who looked to be only seven or eight years old, had absolutely no ability to resist.

"Stop it, you can’t, you can’t." The little boy struggled desperately, his tanned little face flushing a deep reddish-black.

"I beg you, please don’t, that is my parents’ life’s blood."

Towards the end, the little boy even began to beg, tears falling endlessly.

"Bruce, don’t blame us, I know you definitely felt it too, the Evil God polluted the statue, for the safety of the villagers, we must destroy it." The young man holding him looked pained, but he had no other choice.

"No, no, I’m begging you, let me go, that’s my dad’s... don’t smash it."

Bang!

Ignoring the little boy’s cries, the villagers swung a hammer directly onto the stone statue.

Shovels dug into the soil beneath the statue to unearth its foundation, meanwhile, those holding harpoons stood guard on the side, afraid some evil entity might dart out.

"Stop, I’m begging you, stop..."

Adam watched this scene quietly, face full of confusion, what was going on here? These villagers actually knew of the Evil God’s existence, they even knew the Evil God had polluted this statue.

However, these people were not being influenced by the Evil God.

Bang!

Another hammer blow knocked out a chunk of the statue.

The little boy’s eyes filled with despair, tears streaming all over his face, due to his violent struggling, his body gradually lost its strength, the sturdy man holding him slowly relaxed his grip, this child was a pitiful soul, and he didn’t want to hurt him.

But suddenly, the little boy exerted a burst of strength and broke free.

"Bruce." The sturdy man was startled and reached out.

But the boy was incredibly agile, he dodged with a roll and lunged fiercely toward the man swinging the hammer.

"Stop!"

The man never expected someone to charge at him, losing his balance, he tumbled backward toward the cliff edge, taking the little boy with him.

The crowd gasped in horror, although there was seawater below, it was rocky reef, falling down there meant certain death.

"Damn it!" the Village Chief cursed.

"Quick, go down and save them."

The crowd dropped their tools and ran toward the cliff edge.

But just then, two figures slowly floated up from below, it was the little boy and the man who had been swinging the hammer.

The villagers’ mouths fell open, staring in disbelief.

"What... what’s going on here?" The old Village Chief’s pupils contracted.

"Could it be that the Evil God has returned?"

Instantly, terror filled their eyes, they snatched up their tools, aiming them at the little boy and the man.

In the air, the two were equally panicked, they had no idea what was happening or how they had suddenly started flying.

Tap, tap, tap.

Steady footsteps echoed behind the crowd, the villagers snapped their heads around, discovering an extraordinary man exuding a powerful, mysterious aura from head to toe.

"No need to be nervous, I am not a bad person!" Adam smiled.

However, the crowd did not lower their guard, a bad person wouldn’t announce that they were bad, but it was true that the man before them lacked any trace of the Evil God’s aura.

Adam controlled the two figures, gently lowering them to the ground.

"There is no need for such vigilance, you should be able to sense my power, if I truly wanted to deal with you, I wouldn’t need to deceive you!" Adam said calmly.

"My name is Adam, and I am here to deal with the deity statues polluted by the Evil God."

The villagers were all shocked, to think that aside from them, someone else actually knew about the Evil God.

"Immortal Master, it is not that we do not trust you, but bizarre events have recently occurred in our village, so we are a bit on edge, please do not take offense." The old Village Chief, Cecil, spoke respectfully.

The man was right, the Immortal Master before them was incredibly powerful, while they were merely ordinary people with no ability to resist.

"Is the Immortal Master also here to destroy this statue?" he asked.

"Yes, however..."

Just as Adam smiled and nodded, the little boy’s voice cut in.

"No, you can’t destroy it, the Evil God is already gone and won’t come back."

"Bruce, do not be insolent, Immortal Master, I apologize, this child is an orphan, lacking discipline and manners, I hope the Immortal Master can be magnanimous and forgive him." Cecil bellowed. Was this little brat trying to get the whole village killed?

"No matter, I am not trying to destroy the statue, but rather something hidden inside it." Adam waved his hand, his magnanimity wasn’t so petty as to get angry at a little boy.

After he spoke, a brilliant light lit up in his hand and a formation surfaced.

As the light swirled, a massive pulling force emerged.

The stone statue began to tremble violently.

"Ah... the statue." The little boy’s eyes widened, but the next second, a black orb flew out from within.

The statue stopped trembling. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

"This is what the Evil God used to pollute the statue, you don’t need to smash it anymore." Adam controlled the black orb into his palm, applied a seal, and placed it into a specialized storage bag.

The crowd watched in astonishment, unsure whether to believe him.

"You don’t have to believe me, but I hope you will answer my next question." Adam knew his sudden appearance made trust difficult.

"How did you know the Evil God polluted your statue?"

Cecil’s expression showed difficulty, he seemed to find it hard to speak of, but finally sighed heavily. "Immortal Master, if you must know, let me take you to a quiet place."

"Village Chief."

"Village Chief."

The villagers spoke up, worried for his safety.

"It’s fine, I believe that if the Immortal Master truly wanted to kill me, he wouldn’t need to go through so much trouble." Cecil shook his head.

The crowd had no choice but to look at each other in silence.

"Let’s go then." Adam was a bit surprised, this village was quite united.

"Leave the statue until I return to handle it." Cecil looked at the crowd, then walked toward a deserted area in the distance.

"Immortal Master, please follow me."
