Locke serves as an average officer in the army of the Kingdom of Faustian. By chance, he finds himself either in an unfortunate situation or a fortunate one, depending on one's viewpoint, and ultimately rescues the kingdom's princess. As luck would have it, romance blossoms, yet in a society divided between peasantry and nobility, a humble soldier born of common roots has no entitlement to love a princess. Nonetheless, Locke is resolute and embarks on a journey to transform himself into a person deserving of the princess's affection, someone her family would approve of. However, that journey proves to be neither brief nor without peril, as our protagonist will soon come to realize.
