The Fire Of Divinity
Series Info
The Obsidian Maw was infinite and perpetually expanded by devouring worlds. This was the initial lesson that Alex, a reincarnated soul from Earth, grasped when he found himself reborn within the Obsidian Maw. The second lesson he realized was that without a formidable Tyrant, a race or group of individuals could only exist at the lowest tier of the food chain in the Obsidian Maw, destined to become prey for others, and at best scraping by amidst the powerful. The third lesson he comprehended in the abyss was that there were four privileges in existence: power, freedom, safety, and longevity. Before long, he understood that he could only utilize two out of the four privileges, requiring him to sacrifice the other two to obtain the first two. Choosing power and freedom meant opting to become a Tyrant. Prioritizing power and longevity would lead him to become an Apostle. Lastly, seeking safety and longevity would result in being employed as a Drone. The choice of which two privileges he wanted to wield was non-negotiable. He had to select two and forfeit two, or someone else would make the choice for him, which would inevitably render him food for his superiors. Thus, he had to choose two from four options, and he could only combine them in three distinct manners. Life within the Obsidian Maw was like that: restricted and challenging. The Obsidian Maw consistently compelled individuals to make sacrifices or be sacrificed, irrespective of age or gender. Fortunately, Alex was far from powerless. He possessed The Life Forge within his soul to assist him in bearing the consequences of his decisions and the choices imposed upon him by the Obsidian Maw.
