The Golden Hairpin

Set during the era of Emperor Yizong in the Tang Dynasty, the renowned female detective Huang Zixia underwent a shocking transformation from a gifted crime solver to a murderer who annihilated her entire family overnight, thus becoming a fugitive pursued by the authorities with a warrant for her arrest in every region. Li Shubai, born into royalty, was burdened by the ominous curses of "widowhood, loneliness and sickness" that clung to him like an unavoidable plague. When the emperor arranged a marriage, the behavior of the future princess consort raised suspicions, and the threat of the "widowhood" curse loomed ever closer. Huang Zixia escaped to the capital alone in search of justice for the sudden tragedies that had befallen her, where she fortuitously encountered Li Shubai, the Prince of Kui. Li Shubai, who recognized Huang Zixia's disguise, vowed to assist her in re-investigating the heinous murder of her family to clear her name. In return, he requested that she go undercover as an imperial eunuch and reside at the Prince Kui manor to unravel the deep-seated mystery that had long troubled him.
