This novel is also referred to as Heaven Defying SwordXuan Tian hails from a formidable clan. However, he has adopted his mother’s surname and is now known as Huang Tian. This change occurred because he, along with his parents and his maternal relatives, had to escape when he was still quite young. His father's brother conspired against his father, leading to the Xuan family pursuing them relentlessly. Many members of the Huang family suffered injuries, and several lost their lives. He himself nearly perished, were it not for his grandfather who took the final blow in his stead. His grandfather, once a powerful warrior, is now incapacitated. The fighting capabilities of all his remaining family members have diminished due to their injuries. Xuan Tian’s cultivation is also hampered because of the wounds he sustained as a child. Nevertheless, he enrolled in a sword school and toiled diligently to amass enough strength for vengeance and to heal his family. This endeavor seemed futile as his cultivation progressed at an agonizingly slow pace. Until one day, he fell into a pond, where a sword spirit merged with his body, healing his injuries.
